How to Create a WhatsApp Link
- Select the country code and type the WhatsApp number. Drop the leading 0 you dial locally; the tool removes it if you forget.
- Write a short prefilled message, such as "Hi, I want a quote for a website". The customer can edit it before sending.
- Copy the link and use it in your Instagram bio, Google Business Profile, email signature, ads or website.
- Download the QR code for flyers, packaging, shop counters and visiting cards.

Spaces and special characters in the message must be URL-encoded (a space becomes %20). The generator does this automatically, including line breaks, emoji and non-English text.

What is a wa.me link?
wa.me is WhatsApp's official click-to-chat short link. https://wa.me/ followed by a full international phone number (digits only, no plus sign, spaces or leading zeros) opens a chat with that number. Adding ?text= with an encoded message prefills the text box.
Does the person need to save my number first?
No. A click-to-chat link opens a chat with the number even if it is not saved in the contacts of the person who taps it. They still choose whether to send the prefilled message.
Can I create a link without a phone number?
Yes. Leave the number empty and the tool creates https://wa.me/?text=your-message. Tapping it lets the user pick any contact or group to share your message with, which is useful for referral and share campaigns.
Does the link work with WhatsApp Business and the WhatsApp Business API?
Yes. The link works for numbers on the WhatsApp app, the WhatsApp Business app and the WhatsApp Business API (Cloud API). On the API, the customer's first message opens a 24-hour customer service window in which you can reply freely.
Why does my link say the phone number is not on WhatsApp?
Usually the number format is wrong. Use the country code plus the full number, without the leading 0 or trunk prefix, for example 918827409728 for an Indian mobile. Also check the number is actually registered on WhatsApp.
Can I use the QR code on print material?
Yes. Download the QR code as a PNG and place it on flyers, shop counters, packaging or visiting cards. Print it at least 2 cm wide, keep the white border and test it with two phones before printing in bulk.
Is this WhatsApp link generator free?
