Payment Milestone SMS Template for Wedding & Event Planners
A ready-to-adapt SMS message for wedding planners, event managers and venues, with placeholders, sample values and compliance notes.
When to Send This Message
Send before payment milestones. For wedding planners, event managers and venues, this is one of the everyday messages that keeps clients informed without a phone call. Most businesses send it automatically from their software, so the timing is consistent.
Couples and companies choose event partners on portfolio, budget fit and responsiveness.
The SMS Template
India (DLT format)
Dear {#var#}, as per your agreement with [Business Name], the {#var#} payment of Rs. {#var#} is due on {#var#}.International (plain text)
Dear {client}, as per your agreement with [Business Name], the {stage} payment of Rs. {amount} is due on {date}.Example with sample values
Dear Mr. Arora, as per your agreement with [Business Name], the second payment of Rs. 2,00,000 is due on 15 Jan.
With these sample values the message is 114 characters in the standard GSM-7 character set, which is 1 SMS part (square brackets count as two characters each). Long links or local-language (Unicode) text increase the count, as Unicode SMS allow 70 characters per single part.
Replace [Business Name] with your registered brand name. Links shown use example.com as a placeholder; use your own domain.
Placeholders and Sample Values
| Placeholder | Meaning | Sample value |
|---|---|---|
| {#var#} | Client | Mr. Arora |
| {#var#} | Stage | second |
| {#var#} | Amount | 2,00,000 |
| {#var#} | Date | 15 Jan |
Filling in each placeholder
- Client (sample: Mr. Arora): Use the first name or the salutation the customer gave you; fall back to a neutral greeting if the field is empty.
- Stage (sample: second): Keep the value short and specific; test the longest realistic value to check the message still reads well.
- Amount (sample: 2,00,000): Write amounts as Rs. 1,499 rather than with the rupee symbol, which forces Unicode encoding in SMS and shortens each part to 70 characters.
- Date (sample: 15 Jan): Write dates in an unambiguous form such as 14 Oct or 14 Oct 2026; avoid formats like 10/11 that customers read differently.
This template has 4 placeholders and a body of 112 characters before values are filled in. Shorter messages cost less and are more likely to be read in full; aim to keep the filled-in message within one or two SMS parts.
Category and Approval
In India this type of message is usually registered as Service Implicit: it relates to an existing transaction or relationship and can be delivered to numbers on the DND registry. It must not contain promotional content.
Compliance Checklist
- Promotional versions are sent only within the permitted hours and only to recipients who have not opted out.
- The header (sender ID) and the template are registered on a DLT platform, and the template text matches exactly, apart from the variables.
- Each {#var#} holds only the kind of value it was registered for; most platforms limit each variable to 30 characters.
Rules to keep in mind for Wedding & Event Planners
Guest lists contain personal data that should be used only for the event. Portfolio content needs client consent, and package prices should list inclusions and taxes clearly.
General guidance, not legal advice. Rules change, so confirm current requirements before launch. See our SMS compliance guide for India.
Tips for Better Results
- Keep one purpose per message; if you need to send a reminder and a document, the reminder should still make sense on its own.
- Use the customer's name and a reference number so the message is easy to trust and to search for later.
Where this message fits for Wedding & Event Planners
Couples and corporate clients start planning months ahead, browsing Instagram and Pinterest for ideas, shortlisting planners and venues, comparing packages and budgets, and meeting a few planners before signing. Decisions involve families or several managers, and the planner then coordinates dozens of vendors and guests.
Instagram and Pinterest show real events; search and wedding directories bring enquiries; WhatsApp coordinates with clients and vendors and shares mood boards; email carries proposals, contracts and invoices; SMS sends guest reminders and RSVP links.

When should a event company send the payment milestone message?

Usually Service Implicit. The final category depends on your entity type, the consent you hold and your operator's guidelines, and we confirm it during registration.
Can DND Teams set this up for my event company?
Yes. We adapt the template to your business, register or submit it, and connect it to your software or our panel. Share your use case on WhatsApp or through the form.
